Every year, thousands of people in
America are injured or die as a result of unsafe drugs. Drug
manufacturers have a responsibility to market and sell drugs that are
safe. They also have a responsibility to provide adequate
instructions and warnings for the drugs they sell.
The Federal Drug Administration (FDA)
approves drugs for sale before they are sold to the public. Just
because a drug has been approved by the FDA does not necessarily mean
that it is safe. In fact, the FDA has taken action against drug
manufacturers for unsafe drugs that the FDA had previously approved.
Both prescription and
over-the-counter drugs may be unsafe.
